Aurora was one of the first cities in United States to implement the electric street lighting system in 19th century. It borders the neighboring suburb of Naperville and houses some of the masterpieces by Frank Lloyd Wright and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. It has a major Hindu temple, a Phillips Park Zoo and numerous museums, theaters and opera houses. It was also the location of the popular 1992 movie Wayne’s World.
Aurora is a picture perfect suburb, except when it comes to taxi service and transportation. It is about an hour away from both Chicago airports, O’Hare and Midway airport, and just as far from Chicago downtown where the business district is set. This means that any unplanned transfer from Midway airport to Aurora, for example, or from Aurora to a meeting in the city can get very pricey. Even worse, taxi drivers may refuse to drive that far because their return will not pay off.
